We start with a popular 2007 song by the Kanye West called "Love Lockdown",next a sample from the 1960's with The Lovin' Spoonful and "Do You Believe In Magic", and finally a little toe tapper from Asuka Hinoi in Japan called "Tatta Hotori no Kimi". Synopsis; This song is Rhythm and Blues music. This song relates to African music because of the beat. The beat starts off with a simple drum but as the song progresses the beat becomes more complex with the introduction of more instruments. Also, one beat plays, then a more complex beat is added and then it returns to the original beat. Beat change is very common in african music and is called "call-and-response". Lyrics;

Do You Believe In Magic by The Lovinin' Spoonful;1965

Synopsis;
This song is a little rhythm and pop. This song relates to african music because its telling a story and african music sometimes has a story behind it and is telling you something. African slaves used to sing songs about how to reach north and to tell stories of how they would escape. The lyrics in this song talk about how music frees people and makes people happy. I agree with this song because i feel that music says the things you can't find the words to say and can make you feel totally different depending on what you are listening to.
